4-H ENROLLMENT UPDATE: MORE FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS???
Where do I report my county horse and pony or livestock
club?
If you look at the organized club definitions, you will
see that a club is an organized group of youth, led by an
adult, with a planned program that is carried on throughout
the year and has elected officers. A community club meets
in the evening or on weekends and offers self-chosen multiple
learning experiences and activities. This seems like the delivery
mode fitting most of these groups.
A horse and pony or livestock club may fit better as a special
interest program (six hours of contact and specific learning
experience). The determining factor would be whether there
are officers. Each county has to determine, from reading the
CES-237 definitions, where they best fit. The important thing
is to report your efforts - choosing the wrong mode is not
as critical as choosing not to report. |

CONGRESS SERVICE PROJECT TO BENEFIT VANDERBILT
CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
State 4-H Congress delegates and leaders are encouraged to participate
in this year’s service project by bringing items for the NICU
(neonatal intensive care unit) at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
The NICU has, on average, a census of 56 babies and 50-60 nurses,
and these are items that the NICU needs a lot of but runs out of
often.
Items to bring include the following:
* 3 ½” floppy disks (each baby gets one so parents
can take pictures of his/her progress)
* lavender baby soap
* Johnson & Johnson shampoo
* small clothing (diapers, shirts, gowns)
* small knitted hats
* small blankets |
Delegates should bring their items to Davidson Room A at the Sheraton
Downtown Nashville between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.
