The model bridge had to be constructed from 3/32-inch square cross-section basswood and any commonly available adhesive. The bridge mass could be no greater than 25.00 grams. STATE LEADER FORUM A SUCCESS
On Saturday, March 1, approximately 82 volunteer leaders, teen leaders and UT Extension staff gathered in Crossville at the Clyde York 4-H Center for the State 4-H Volunteer Leader Forum. Participants had the opportunity to attend a variety of educational workshops and hear a fabulous keynote address from Al Behel, a licensed marital and family therapist, professional counselor and medical psychotherapist. Alice Ann Moore, Director, 4-H Youth Development, provided attendees with an update about the direction of the Tennessee 4-H program.
Thanks to all those who helped promote the forum. Congratulations to the Central Region for having the largest district delegation (36) and to Cumberland County in the Eastern Region for having the largest county delegation (10). Kudos also go out to the many teen leaders, adult volunteers and UT Extension staff who facilitated workshop sessions.
A description of the educational sessions and resources provided are posted on the Tennessee 4-H Web site. You can download handouts and other resources from 4h.tennessee.edu/volunteers/stateleaderforum/resources.htm.
Remember next year there will be a leader forum in each region instead of one state forum. Dates will be published on the regional and state Web sites as soon as they are set.
