During 2002 Academic Conference, delegates in the Home Horticulture
and Field Crops projects spent an afternoon volunteering in the UT Gardens,
located on the Ag Campus. They planted hanging baskets, planted sunflowers,
and assisted with other things in the Gardens. They learned about different
kinds of plants, what environments certain plants need in order to grow,
and about nurseries and greenhouses. One 4-H'er commented that she would
use what she learned from the project to help her "community learn
more things."
