Teens
in Campbell County Honor Club received a 4-H
S.O.S. mini-grant to landscape around the Children's Home
of the Cumberland Mountains. The older 4-H'ers taught younger children
about plants from germinating a seed to transplanting to finally planting
around a home. Local teachers led their students in helping with the
project. The 4-H'ers took their skills and the plants they grew to the
Children's Home of the Cumberland Mountains. The project has turned
out to be better than anyone could have imagined. With loads of community
support, the original idea has blossomed into a plan for continued work
at the home and with the children who live there.
