Adults and 4-H'ers teamed up to help residents at LaFollette Nursing Home. Their 4-H S.O.S. mini-grant was to fund several summer workshops, including training for the youth volunteers and a reflection/celebration activity. Throughout the summer, the 4-H'ers hosted workshops such as Farm Day, Scrapbooking, Games Yesterday and Today, "Rolling in the Dough" biscuit baking, and Clowning. The 4-H'ers learned lots of things from participating in this project. Some of the things they learned were how to operate a wheelchair safely, not to assume that residents couldn't hear just because they were older, how to make biscuits, and that each of the adults at the nursing home has a special personality.
