Garden Project

There are lots of ways to use gardening to help your community. Here are just a few ideas.

  • raise a garden and donate the produce to a shelter or the local food pantry
  • help students at a preschool raise a small garden
  • assist senior citizens in the neighborhood with planting, weeding, and/or harvesting their gardens
  • sell produce to help raise money for a local charity
  • plant a "raised garden" with physically challenged kids
  • plant a historic garden to teach about farming methods of long ago
  • grow pumpkins to 1) decorate with nursing home residents or 2) sell to raise money for a good cause

Tell us how you plan to combine gardening with service learning!
