Here are a few ways you can help your community through home horticulture.

• plant flowers and/or shrubs at a nursing home, children's home, women's shelter, school, or day care
• landscape a Habitat for Humanity house
• landscape the playground at a community center
• plant wildflowers along a roadway
• help design a landscape plan for a new park
• rake leaves or plant flowers for elderly neighbors
