Downen Named to National 4-H Hall of Fame

Dr. M. Lloyd Downen, former Extension director and dean emeritus, has been selected as a member of the 2015 National 4-H Hall of Fame. Dr. Downen will be inducted with a ceremony at the National 4-H Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland, on Friday, October 9, during National 4-H Week. Also to be inducted this year, is Dr. Alma Hobbs. Dr. Hobbs is a former Extension specialist at Tennessee State University and served at USDA as Deputy Administrator, 4-H Youth Development. Dr. Downen and Dr. Hobbs join fellow Tennesseans Ben Powell, Martha Jo Tolley, Peggy Adkins and George Foster as a Hall of Fame member. Congratulations to these two individuals on an honor well-deserved.
