Each school in your area can apply for Agriculture in the
Classroom's Outdoor Classroom Garden Mini-Grant Program. The grant
offers $500 for first-time applicants then $250 annually to maintain
the educational garden.
The grant is designed to show that agriculture is an
integral part of our everyday environment. Farms, wildlife, forestry,
people and cities are all interrelated with agriculture. The gardens
can demonstrate the connection between agriculture, food, fiber,
conservation, wildlife and the urban environment while teaching math,
science, language arts and more.
Agriculture in the Classroom lesson plans are also available at tnfarmbureau.org/content/teacher-lesson-plans-resources to assist with youth development.
