Shark Tank: 4-H Edition

New for 2021 – Shark Tank: 4-H Edition! For 2021, the contest will be held virtually on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Those who are interested should contact their County 4-H Agent to register.

  • 4-H members who are in 8th – 11th grade as of January 1, 2021 may compete.
  • 4-H members may work individually or as a team with a maximum of 4 team members.
  • 4-H members must be registered in SUPER by November 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 4-H members must submit a written business plan and advertisement for their created product/company to be submitted one week prior of the pitch to the Sharks. The submission will be submitted at this link: tiny.utk.edu/STbusplan.
  • The written business plan and advertisement is due by Friday, November 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 4-H members must have a two-minute or less video that will be shown to the Sharks at the beginning of the pitch.
  • Everyone must speak and participate during the pitch to the Sharks.
  • The time allotted for each individual / team in the contest room is 15 minutes. This includes two minutes for the video, 10 minutes of the individual or team pitching their idea to the Sharks, and the last three minutes will include questions from the Sharks. Set-up and tear-down time will be provided and is not included in the 15 minutes.
  • For 2021, the contest will be held via Zoom on Saturday, December 4. Individuals / teams will be assigned a time for logging in with five minutes to prepare before their pitch begins.
  • Only judges and the individual / team members will be allowed in the Zoom contest room.

  • 1st place pitch receives $500 (per team)
  • 2nd place pitch receives $300 (per team)
  • 3rd place pitch receives $150 (per team)
  • All participating teams will receive $50.
  • Each contestant will receive a ribbon and certificate of participation.
  • Business Plan = 40 points
  • Product = 45 points
  • Presentation = 55 points
  • Shark’s Scores = 10 points
  • Total points available = 150 points
