Next Chapter is a unique college and career readiness program developed in partnership with Tennessee 4-H and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, that connects students statewide with college and career resources at Tennessee’s state flagship, land-grant university. Together, we aim to better prepare Tennessee students to successfully accomplish college and career goals following high school.
Next Chapter participants in eighth through twelfth grades engage in specialized events, activities, and curriculum focused on career exploration and college readiness. Participants will develop and refine skills in areas such as time management, learning comprehension, and note-taking; explore careers and fields of study; and prepare for the college selection process and career readiness, including resume and interview practice.
Next Chapter inspires youth to choose to continue their education after high school through whatever path best suits their career aspirations. The Next Chapter program is offered to all ninety-five Tennessee counties, is county-based, and is offered to youth enrolled in the 4-H program.
