The Horse Bowl is a quiz-style contest where teams compete head-to-head to test their knowledge of horses and the equine industry. Each round includes 20 questions—eight one-on-one and 12 toss-up questions—with points awarded for correct answers. Bonus questions offer teams a chance to earn extra points.

Teams are placed in brackets by random draw, and those from the same county won’t compete in the first round. A buzzer system is used, and players must respond quickly. Only team members and coaches are allowed in contest rooms. Good sportsmanship is required, and all contest officials’ decisions are final.
