Lori Gallimore, Extension Specialist
There are currently over 250 Junior High 4-H’ers across the state already registered to take part in next week’s event (June 9-11)! Is your 4-H’er signed up yet?
Today is the final day to register your Junior High 4-H members for the 2020 Academic UN-Conference. If you have not done so, please register at the SUPER website.
Remember, any Tennessee 4-H member in the 6th-8th grade (as of January 1, 2020) is eligible to attend this year. The UN-Conference will be a virtual event focusing on academic project work in 16 different 4-H project areas. In addition to their online, academic work, 4-H’ers will have a chance to meet with UT professors and Extension Specialists with the UT Institute of Agriculture via Zoom, explore career opportunities, engage with “real life” college students to learn more about the collegiate experience and virtually tour both the university and Herbert College of Agriculture. This experience will give them exposure to what “real college life” is like – after all, they will be taking “classes” virtually, just like UT students did this past spring! Even more, the educational elements and opportunities will provide them with some great experiences that they can add to their 4- H project e-portfolio. And let’s not forget about the BINGO game! The more activities you complete … the more prizes you win!
Each 4-H member registered will receive an agenda and details of how to log into Zoom via email. This information will be sent out late this week. We are looking forward to seeing your 4-H members at the 2020 Junior High Academic UN-Conference! Please let me know if you have questions!
