Dr. Richard Clark
I had the pleasure of recently joining the Tennessee delegation to National 4-H Congress while they were in Atlanta. This group of 41 senior high 4-H members and chaperones spent five days learning about leadership, citizenship, STEM, and healthy living, participating in a service project, and making new friends. This event, in its 97th year, provided participants the opportunity to engage in hands- on workshops, service projects, and hear keynote speakers such as Holocaust survivor Eugen Schoenfeld, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, and Miss America Cara Mund.
A highlight of National 4-H Congress is the annual brunch at the Ritz Carlton. Previous delegates to the event provide financial support to ensure that the delegates have this experience year after year. This year we were joined by Director Emeritus Steve Sutton as well as Dr. Robert Burns, Dean, UT Extension, and his wife Rita.
Congratulations to the delegation on earning this trip to National 4-H Congress, and special thanks to each supporter who helped ensure our 4-H members had the opportunity to attend this event.
