Justin Crowe, Director and State 4-H Program Leader
It feels like this year has literally already flown by. It’s almost March and time to think about 4-H camp this summer. Most of you have already begun promoting camp, passing out brochures, and showing camp promotional materials during 4-H club meetings. Our 4-H center staff think about camp all year long. From ensuring the facilities are maintained to thinking of new programs to offer, the 4-H center staff constantly has you and your 4-H members on their minds. This past week, our four 4-H center staffs had the opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida, to attend the American Camping Association conference. This annual meeting brings together leaders in the camping world (not just 4-H) from all over the nation to share ideas and best practices, and learn the latest and greatest in camping ideas/resources. In addition to our 4-H center staff, I invited Lynne Middleton to attend to learn what new camp-related curriculum is out there to help our 4-H centers and the youth we serve. Get ready – 4-H Camp 2023 will be here before we know it! It’s going to be an awesome summer! |
