On a Positive Note

Justin Crowe, 4-H Youth Development Director and State Leader

There is a quote that reads, “If you are positive, you’ll see opportunities instead of obstacles.” Challenges in our world have caused many people to focus on negative social media posts, damaging and destructive thoughts related to the future, and has caused many to worry about what the future holds in many areas. Our county, regional, and state staff have remained positive throughout these unprecedented times.

We have not been able to conduct face to face meetings but we have been able to meet youth where they are. We have experienced challenges with youth having access to stable internet connections so we developed other ways to meet the needs. COVID-19 and other situations in our nation have caused many to be doubtful of the future. We are facing challenging times, but these situations can be opportunities. Our 4-H agents have found new ways to reach audiences virtually. We are looking at new and innovative ways to be more inclusive to ensure we are serving all youth.

Perhaps these situations are truly opportunities for us to learn how to better serve our youth. Let’s remain positive. Our state’s youth need us.

On a Positive Note - If you are positive, you'll see opportunities instead of obstacles.
