Justin Crowe, Director and State 4-H Program Leader

On September 1, the state 4-H office welcomed Ashley Briggs as the business manager for Tennessee 4-H and the Tennessee 4-H Foundation. Here is a bit about Ashley:

“I’ve worked in education for seven to eight years, six to seven in higher education, and the last bit at Oak Ridge Preschool where I was the bookkeeper. My work at UT Knoxville was in the academic departments for the College of Arts and Sciences as an accounting coordinator and admin. specialist.

I have a passion for education, so working in that field is something I truly enjoy. I enjoy working with many people from all kinds of backgrounds, especially when we all have a common goal. On a personal note, I am a mother of two girls, one in middle school and the other in high school. If I am not at marching band or orchestra performances, I can be found on my deck reading and enjoying the wildlife, playing with ducks, or gardening. When COVID lockdown happened, I became an avid gardener and duck parent. So, while I can’t live on a farm quite yet, I created a little backyard farm on our little acre. I often say I am a jack of all trades, as I have interests all over the place, from gardening to restoring a ’78 Nova. I believe that you can always learn new things.”
