Justin Crowe, 4-H Director and State Program Leader
Many of you have heard me say before that the heart of the 4-H program is in the county. Last week, Dr. Stokes, Dr. Fox, and I had the opportunity to visit with county Extension staff in Carroll, DeKalb, and Haywood counties. We got to hear first-hand the amazing work happening not only in 4-H but also in Family and Consumer Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Community Development. We have amazing county staff members who work hard each day to provide research based information to clientele within each county.
While on the road, we also jammed out a little to some music! Even administrators like to have a little fun! Note that I was in a parking lot when this dancing photo was made! Safety first, y’all!!

The Tennessee State Fair is just around the corner with less than two weeks until opening at the new location at the Wilson County Fairgrounds. You will find plenty of 4-H at the fair such as exhibits and 4-H livestock judging and 4-H dairy judging and of course the 4-H Funnel Cake 5K on Saturday, August 14. Wilson County and the Central Region also have additional 4-H exhibits/competitions at the fair. This year is going to be a fun family event so come check out the fair! The Tennessee State Fair website has more information. |
