Tennessee has been notified that the National 4-H Poultry Judging contents will have significant changes starting with the November 2021 conference. The past national manual sold by the University of Nebraska is no longer applicable to the national contest. The new manual is only available online. You can find the new National 4-H Poultry Judging Contest Manual at https://national4hpoultry.ca.uky.edu/poultry-judging-manual.

In addition, there have been major changes to the chicken and turkey barbecue contests. The new rules are available on the national website for both contests. You can find the new Chicken Barbecue National 4-H Poultry Judging Contest Manual by visiting https://national4hpoultry.ca.uky.edu/poultry-judging-manual.

The Turkey Barbecue manual is also online through the University of Kentucky. To find the Turkey Barbecue National 4-H Poultry Judging Contest Manual, please visit: https://national4hpoultry.ca.uky.edu/content/turkey-barbecue.

The rules for the national avian bowl and egg preparation contests remain the same.

These contests are held the week before Thanksgiving each year at the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
