Jolie Scalf is a 4-H volunteer in Carter County during the summer months. This past summer, she taught and helped prepare eight of Carter County’s summer program lessons to underserved areas of Carter County. In addition, Jolie helped prepare many of Carer County’s Farmer’s Market seasonality recipes with a complimentary program, Farmer’s Market Fresh. Currently , she is pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Human Services and was able to share new recipes with Carter County extension and the 4-H’ers. Pictured is Jolie teaching 4-H’ers how to measure fats in foods from a looking at a food label. She later tuaght students to make green smoothies with mango, spinach, and kale.
